Project Profile: Slope and Tunnel Support for a Major Infrastructure Project

Ground Specialists, Inc. was tapped to perform critical slope and tunnel stabilization works for a large-scale infrastructure project aimed at securing water supply for a major urban center.

The project presented two very different geotechnical challenges:

Above Ground
Our team carried out shotcreting and soil nailing on steep, exposed slopes using rope access, a specialized technique that allowed us to safely stabilize surfaces in hard-to-reach areas without the use of scaffolding or heavy machinery.

Underground
Inside a deep tunnel shaft, we applied dry-mix shotcreting using a suspended gondola system. This method ensured precise application and structural support in a confined environment, helping reinforce the tunnel lining during excavation.

From open slopes to underground shafts, GSI’s work helped ensure the long-term safety, efficiency, and durability of this essential infrastructure project — one that will serve millions of people once fully operational.

🚧 Specialized access. Complex conditions. No compromise. That’s the GSI way.
