While we often showcase dramatic before-and-after transformations, this time we’re focusing on a method whose success lies in what doesn’t happen: no washouts, no soil loss, and no interruptions to the work that follows.

✅ What are erosion control mats?
Erosion control mats are biodegradable coverings installed directly on exposed soil. They help stabilize the slope surface, reduce runoff, and protect against erosion, which is especially critical in the early stages of construction and during the rainy season.

These mats play a foundational role in the slope protection system. By holding the soil in place, they allow vegetation to grow and give other structural methods — such as hydroseeding, soil nailing, or non-frame method — time to take full effect. They’re an essential first line of defense.
