The project required a deep coastal excavation, a complex environment marked by challenging soil and rock conditions, high groundwater inflow, and limited working space. To ensure safety and stability, GSI implemented a robust temporary support system using soil nailing and shotcrete.

This method allowed the excavation to proceed safely from the top down, while maintaining the integrity of the surrounding ground. Soil nails provided active lateral restraint, while shotcrete offered immediate surface stabilization and erosion control.
