Every successful ground-engineering project is built on skilled planning, careful coordination, and steady leadership on-site. One such leader is Engr. Michael P. Balasuit, Project Manager under GSI’s Operations Department.
A licensed civil engineer and BOSH/COSH-trained professional, Engr. Balasuit graduated from Nueva Vizcaya State University and has spent the last nine years helping deliver safe and reliable slope-protection works across the Philippines. Adaptable and team-oriented, he’s known for stepping in wherever he’s needed, whether that means directing site operations or performing basic surveying to keep the work moving smoothly.
A project he’s especially proud of was a major slope-stabilization job carried out during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. The work required strict compliance with evolving local protocols and additional administrative steps that slowed progress. Despite these challenges, the project was successfully completed, delivering results favorable to the company and the client.
His experience at GSI has reinforced his dedication to his craft and deepened his appreciation for the people he works with, a value that now extends to his life beyond the job. Today, his greatest motivation is his family. Their support encourages him to keep improving and stay committed to his profession. Outside work, he enjoys playing basketball and airsoft, and spending quality time with loved ones. His outlook on work and life is guided by a simple belief:
