Ground Specialists, Inc. was engaged to stabilize an eroding slope beside a high-altitude access road serving an energy facility. The road is the sole route leading to a critical operations pad, and ongoing slope erosion had begun narrowing the passage, posing safety risks for heavy equipment and maintenance activities.

To address these conditions, GSI carried out slope remediation works anchored by soil nailing and shotcrete, helping reinforce the slope and restore the road’s reliability.

One of the primary challenges was the unpredictable high-altitude climate, where weather conditions often shifted independently of general forecasts. This required close monitoring and flexible work planning to manage sudden weather-related stoppages.

As part of the contract scope, GSI also completed associated road works, including concrete pavement, all of which were delivered to the client’s satisfaction and contributed to the safe operation of a vital access route.
