Ground Specialists, Inc. carried out slope protection works for a large-scale solar energy facility constructed on steep, exposed terrain vulnerable to erosion and surface runoff. The project required a combination of structural reinforcement and bioengineering methods to help stabilize the slopes while supporting long-term environmental recovery.

To address the site conditions, GSI implemented cascading shotcrete and gabions along the main gully. Surrounding slope areas were stabilized using bioengineering solutions, including installing coconet and planting kakawate and vetiver grass to help secure the soil surface and encourage vegetation growth over time.

At the start of the project, the slopes were largely bare and exposed to rainfall-induced erosion. By combining engineered protection systems with natural stabilization methods, the project helped establish safer, more resilient slopes capable of supporting both the facility and the surrounding terrain.
