Service Spotlight: Non-Frame Method

Not every slope protection system relies on concrete. In locations where long-term stability and a more natural appearance are priorities, the Non-Frame Method offers a different approach that allows the landscape to recover over time.

✔️ What It Does
The Non-Frame Method uses rock bolts, base plates, and wire ropes to provide internal support. Unlike framed systems that use concrete lattice beams, this method works by reinforcing the slope while allowing much of the natural surface to remain exposed.

✔️ How It’s Applied
After the slope has been prepared, rock bolts are installed, secured with base plates, and interconnected with wire ropes, creating a reinforcement system that improves overall stability while keeping visible structural elements to a minimum.

✔️ Why It Works
By providing dependable stabilization without extensive concrete framing, the Non-Frame Method allows engineering performance and natural landscape recovery to work together. It is well suited for roadway projects, residential developments, industrial sites, and other locations where both safety and environmental integration are important considerations.

For more than three decades, Ground Specialists, Inc. has applied the Non-Frame Method across a wide range of slope protection projects. Each solution is carefully engineered to suit the unique conditions of the site.
